Overview
This 8-day Spiti Valley adventure begins with a scenic drive from Manali through the Atal Tunnel, Kunzum Pass, and picturesque Spiti Valley landscapes to reach Kaza, where you’ll acclimatize and explore local highlights like Key Monastery, Kibber Village, and the Chicham Glass Bridge. The journey continues with visits to Langza, Hikkim—the highest post office—and Komic, the highest motorable village, before heading to Dhankar to see its monastery and optional lake trek. Next, travel to Tabo to visit the ancient 1000-year-old Tabo Monastery and possibly Gue Village, famous for its mummy. Crossing Kunzum Pass again, you’ll reach the stunning Chandratal Lake, enjoying sunset views and a stay at nearby Swiss camps. The return trip to Manali includes stops at Batal and Solang Valley, with a day reserved for local sightseeing of Hadimba Temple, Vashisht Hot Springs, and Mall Road, plus optional adventure activities like paragliding or river rafting. The tour concludes with your departure from Manali, optionally visiting Naggar Castle or Manikaran Sahib en route, leaving you with unforgettable memories of the breathtaking Spiti region.

Itinerary
Day 1 : Travel Manali to Kaza via Atal Tunnel
Begin your journey from Manali by crossing the iconic Atal Tunnel and continuing through the rugged yet scenic routes of Batal, Chhatru, and Kunzum Pass. As you drive deeper into the Trans-Himalayan terrain, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Spiti Valley. By evening, arrive in Kaza, the largest town in Spiti, where you will acclimatize to the high-altitude environment and settle in for the night. Overnight stay in Kaza.
Day 2 : Kaza Local Sightseeing
Explore the beautiful surroundings of Kaza with visits to some of Spiti's most iconic spots. Begin with the Key Monastery, perched on a hilltop and offering panoramic views of the valley. Continue to Kibber Village, one of the highest inhabited villages in the world, known for its traditional Spitian homes. Then, head to the Chicham Glass Bridge, an engineering marvel connecting remote villages across deep gorges. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll through the local market in Kaza before returning to your accommodation for the night. Overnight stay in Kaza.
Day 3 : Langza – Hikkim – Komic Loop Excursion
Embark on the Langza–Hikkim–Komic loop, a scenic drive through some of the highest villages in the world. Start with Langza, famous for its giant Buddha statue overlooking the valley and rich fossil reserves. Next, visit Hikkim, home to the world’s highest post office, where you can send a postcard from the top of the world. Continue to Komic, the highest motorable village, offering stunning Himalayan views and peaceful monastery surroundings. After exploring these unique high-altitude villages, return to Kaza for an overnight stay.
Day 4 : Kaza to Tabo via Dhankar
Depart from Kaza and head towards Dhankar, where you can visit the ancient Dhankar Monastery perched dramatically on a cliffside. For those seeking a bit of adventure, an optional trek to the serene Dhankar Lake is available. After exploring Dhankar, continue your journey to Tabo, home to the over 1,000-year-old Tabo Monastery, renowned for its ancient murals and spiritual significance. If time permits, make a detour to Gue Village to see the naturally preserved mummy of a Buddhist monk. Conclude the day with an overnight stay in Tabo.
Day 5 : Tabo to Chandratal via Kunzum Pass
Begin with an early departure from Tabo and retrace your route across the breathtaking Kunzum Pass as you make your way towards the pristine Chandratal Lake. After a scenic drive through rugged mountain landscapes, arrive at the Chandratal campsite. From there, take a short 2-kilometre trek to reach the lake, where you can witness the stunning sunset over the crystal-clear waters at an altitude of 4,300 meters. Spend the night in comfortable Swiss camps near the lake, equipped with attached washrooms for a cozy and memorable high-altitude stay.
Day 6 : Chandratal to Manali via Batal and Solang
Begin your return journey from Chandratal to Manali. Drive back through the dramatic landscapes of Batal and Chhatru, retracing the rugged mountain roads that lead back to the greener valleys. Cross the Atal Tunnel once again as you descend into the Kullu Valley. By evening, arrive in Manali, where you can relax and unwind after the adventurous high-altitude experience. Overnight stay in Manali.
Day 7 : Manali Local Sightseeing
Enjoy local sightseeing in and around Manali. Start with a visit to the historic Hadimba Devi Temple, set amidst cedar forests, followed by a relaxing soak at the Vashisht Hot Springs, known for their therapeutic properties. Later, stroll along the bustling Mall Road, where you can shop for souvenirs or enjoy local snacks. For adventure enthusiasts, optional activities such as paragliding or river rafting in Solang Valley are available. After a fulfilling day, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Manali.
Day 8 : Departure from Manali
It's time to wrap up your unforgettable Spiti adventure. Depending on your departure schedule, you may choose to visit Naggar Castle, a charming heritage site with stunning views, or take a detour to the sacred Manikaran Sahib if you're heading towards Kasol. After the optional excursion, you will be dropped off as per your chosen mode of travel, either boarding a Volvo bus back to Delhi or continuing by private vehicle. The tour concludes with lasting memories of the breathtaking landscapes and unique cultural experiences of Spiti Valley.
