Then, journey to Darjeeling, renowned for its stunning sunrise views from Tiger Hill, lush tea gardens, and colonial-era charm. From the tranquil landscapes of Sikkim to the scenic railway loops of Darjeeling, this trip promises unforgettable moments amidst the majestic Himalayas.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Gangtok

Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to Gangtok, a journey of approximately 4 to 5 hours through lush green hills and scenic winding roads. After checking in at the hotel, you can spend the evening at your leisure. A walk along MG Marg, Gangtok’s vibrant central street filled with charming cafes and local shops, offers a perfect introduction to the city’s lively atmosphere. Overnight stay will be in Gangtok.

Day 2 : Gangtok Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, embark on a full-day city tour of Gangtok, starting with a visit to the famous Tashi Viewpoint, where you can witness a breathtaking sunrise over the majestic Kanchenjunga range. Continue to Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok, two peaceful hilltop temples offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. The tour proceeds to the picturesque Bakthang Waterfall, the historic Enchey Monastery, and the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, which houses rare Tibetan artifacts and scriptures. Next, visit the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom to explore traditional Sikkimese arts and crafts. Conclude the day with a visit to the tranquil Banjhakri Waterfalls and the peaceful Ranka Monastery. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Gangtok.

Day 3 : Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion

Start your day with an excursion to the stunning Tsomgo Lake, situated at an altitude of 12,310 feet. This glacial lake is famous for its changing colors and captivating natural beauty, surrounded by snow-covered mountains. Continue your journey to the sacred Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a revered shrine dedicated to a legendary Indian Army soldier. If permits are available, you can also visit Nathula Pass (subject to availability and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays), a high-altitude border post that offers spectacular views of the Indo-China border. In the evening, return to Gangtok and unwind at your hotel with memories of a scenic and soulful day.

Day 4 : Transfer to Darjeeling

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Gangtok and begin your journey to Darjeeling, which takes approximately four hours. The drive offers picturesque views of rolling hills, terraced tea gardens, and charming hillside villages. Upon arrival in Darjeeling, check into your hotel and take some time to relax. In the evening, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the famous Mall Road, explore the bustling local markets, or savor a soothing cup of authentic Darjeeling tea at a nearby café. Settle in for an overnight stay in the peaceful ambiance of Darjeeling.

Day 5 : Darjeeling Local Sightseeing

Early in the morning, drive to Tiger Hill around 4 AM to witness the spectacular sunrise over the snow-capped Kanchenjunga peaks. A truly unforgettable sight. On the way back, stop at the historic Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia Loop, an impressive feat of railway engineering surrounded by beautiful gardens. After breakfast, continue your exploration with a visit to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, which houses exotic wildlife including the rare Red Panda. Next, explore the Tibetan Refugee Centre to learn about Tibetan culture and craftsmanship. Later in the day, stroll through the scenic Tea Gardens, admire the tranquil Peace Pagoda, and unwind at the Rock Garden. Return to your hotel in the evening for an overnight stay.

Day 6 : Departure from Darjeeling

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your drive back to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station. As your journey comes to an end, take with you the cherished memories of the serene hills, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes of Gangtok and Darjeeling.
